Stephen Wolfram is the creator of Mathematica and Wolfram|Alpha, the author of A New Kind of Science, and the founder and CEO of Wolfram Research. Wolfram technologies have gradually emerged as a major force in many other areas of computing. Passionate individuals and organizations play a major role in helping advance the usage of Wolfram technologies. In 2013, George Danner won the Wolfram Innovator Award for his work with the CDC around the 2008 flu outbreak.  He was also recognized for his work within the oil and gas industry.
